Say hello to our new Cloud Engineer

Our new Cloud Engineer Robert Hong describes himself as a very analytical person who likes solving problems – in fact, problem-solving is one of his specialities. He comes to us with lots of technical experience and knows what it's like to work with fast-growing and fast-paced companies.

At Elastic Move, Robert will work mainly in operations, supporting customers with technical management and developing their IT environments. However, if you meet him and want to talk to him about something other than cloud solutions and AWS, ask him about cars or the stock market.

Here's how Robert summarises his first week:

"I really appreciate the transparency and the open way of communicating at Elastic Move. I'm looking forward to digging deeper into the wonderful world of AWS together with this close-knit, helpful and very competent team!"

How to get started with Industry 4.0

The fourth industrial revolution

Right now, many of our customers have questions about Industry 4.0 – the so-called "fourth industrial revolution". Therefore, we invited Henrik Vikberg, Industry Lead Manufacturing at AWS, to shed some light on this exciting topic. Here are some key takeaways from our online mini-seminar.

From standalone solutions to a joint architecture

For many years, Amazon’s technical excellence has been the driving force of new cloud-based services and innovations. Not surprisingly, over 50% of the world’s Windows and Linux servers are now on AWS. That already says a lot. That’s why we’ve chosen to work exclusively with Amazon Web Services (AWS). And that’s also why we were so excited to have Henrik from AWS join our mini-seminar!

Henrik spoke about how modern cloud-based services, like data analysis, machine learning, and artificial intelligence, will revolutionise the industry. In order to move from data to business value, organisations need to figure out how to transition from silos and standalone solutions to a joint architecture that allows seamless communication across different departments.

3 tips from Henrik:

  1. Focus on identifying possibilities

  2. Start simple – don't bite off more than you can chew

  3. Prove your concept as quickly as possible
